Graffiti on Canvas

First off, I want to apologize for the lack of posts. I have been feeling a little sick and have been super busy so I haven’t had the time to take pictures of even turn on my computer lol. So this is the second post of my paintings series. This particular one took me about 4 hours and its acrylic on canvas. So lots of things going on:

*Getting ready for my trip to Peru in 2 weeks

Went to a vintage boutique and found a truly great dress which i will snap soon. Just to give you an idea of what it looks like just think sequins, mesh and fringe :). I need to get it altered because its a bit long on me so once that’s done I will start wearing it.

Florida is hot as usual with lots of rain lately so my outfits have consisted of lots of body con skirts, acid washed shirts, shorts, and lots and lots of jewelry. On slightly cooler days (ie 90 degrees) i’ve been wearing a pair of DIY Studded ankle boots which i purchases a couple years ago. pics up soon!

Hi everyone! Snakes and Cages

My luck, I woke up late for work today leaving me with only 10 minutes to get ready. So this is what I came up with while I was tripping over stuff. As usual, Florida weather is above 90 degrees today so that really limits what i can wear. I have a love/hate relationship with Florida really. I love the fact that the beach is 20 minutes away and it feels like i’m on vacation 365 days a year but the heat really gets to me sometimes. I’ve always wondered if i could fry an egg on the roof of my car… This is something i need to try lol. I did some vintage shopping today after work and came across some pretty great finds. (I’ll post about them later) In other news, we’re getting a brand new radio booth at work :) and i’m very excited!!! I’ll post pictures once we move into the new stationnn. This is what I wore today :)

106 degree weather outfit

wow Florida has some crazy weather. Just earlier today the temperature meter in my car read 106 degrees and now a couple hours later there’s rain and lightning. This is what I wore while I managed not to melt  and stick on the ground. Good news today! the radio station where I was was voted South Florida’s best college radio station :). So excited!

Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo?

So today since I have a cold and a very stuffy nose, I decided to stay in bed and watch the Tribeca Film festival on the Sundance channel. As I was flipping through the channels I came across Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo? (who are you, Polly Magoo?) a film from 1966 which portrays a satirical view of fashion and fashion houses. It is so ridiculous and funny at the same time I couldn't resist to do a post about it. Dorothy McGowan plays Polly, a 20-year-old Brooklyn-born fashion model in Paris who is followed by a camera crew to go behind the scenes of the fashion industry. I googled the movie title for these images, and I have to say the imagery and essence of this film is superb. Throughout the film I found myself wanting to pause the movie and snap a picture of the screen. I would hang every single movie still on my wall if i could. Here's hoping that you guys see this movie!! I'll post a clip from it below.

Caged at the Knees

Dans Paris is such a great movie. I just finished watching it on the sundance channel...sooo good. It's about a man heartbroken by the end of his affair with a woman. Filled with metaphors,flashbacks, sound bites...amazing.Its similar to The Science Of Sleep which is, by the way, my all time favourite movie :). Heres today's outfit:

Daisies

Hi everyone! sorry i haven't posted in so long! I just got back from my trip to michigan for my boyfriend's sister's graduation party. I got in yesterday at around 5 pm and then I had to go to work from 9 to 11pm at the radio station where I work so i was pretty tired to do a post. I had so much fun. This is how my trip went:

• Arrived at the Airport at 6 am to leave to Orlando and then catch a connection flight to Detroit
• Got to Orlando,found out theres not connection flights to detroit lol
• Left for St. Louis and then to Detroit.
• Arrived at Detroit at around 5 pm (geeze)
• Had dinner met a lot of my boyfriend's family and had lamb for the first time (I didnt know it was lamb...i felt so bad)
• Went to a safari to feed animals
• Ran up hills :)
• Collected flowers
• Ran in the Rain
• Got sick :(
• Went to Cedar Point which is by the way sooo muchh funnn
• Went to Ohio
• Had the greasiest patty melt sandwhich I've ever seen at this place called Tony's. They're known for having sevings that could feed 5 people. I was so grossed out by the way people were eating! One girl was eating a ONE GALLON FUDGE SUNDAE all by herself and there were buckets of bacon all over with humongous burgers. I've never seen a person eat so much!
• All in all I had a great time and lots of fun :)
